R10 Out, R80 In + Dinho overpower China

Zidane number 5, Ronaldo 11/99, Baggio 18 at Milan, Beckham 23 and so on. Ronaldinho took the number 80, why? He was born in 1980. I was against Seedorf giving up number 10 for Ronnie. For one, there is a hierarchy in the team that must be respected no matter what, and Seedorf wins in seniority. If the likes of Baggio, Zizou and Il Fenomeno didn’t get their numbers why should Dinho get it. In addition to that, Seedorf is a great legend, 4 time champions league champion (the only player to win it with 3 different teams) plus he’s been Milanista for 6 years and earned the right to the No. 10 jersey after waiting for it after another great one Rui Costa. Finally and most importantly, it’s never about what number you wear, more of what number of goals you score, stats numbers, what you do for the team.

Now moving on to Beijing 2008 Olympics. Brazil Faced China in the last group stage game, winning 3-0 with a goal from Diego and a brace from Thiago Neves. Securing the first place with 9 points, 9 goals and conceding none. They will face Cameron on the 16th in the quarter final. Ronaldinho played the whole 90 minutes captaining the Brazilian national team to another comfortable victory against China at their home. He didn’t manage to score, but it’s not always about scoring, rather more about helping the team score and win. I liked Ronnie in this game, the magical passes specifically.

Here’s a video of Dinho’s highlight in the game against China.

    Def WOW!

In between the coverage on TV, youtube and your own posts Fet, i have caught alot of Brazil/Dino at the Olympics and he has started to unearth some of that old magic def!

But more worried about the backline, im starting to pray that by the time Pato & Dino get back that EVERY player will be fit and available for selection (fat chance!)

BTW thanks for the banner suggestion, i made up a homemade one, i took a brand new memory card with me and after havind filled it with pics/videos of the match (& banner) somefin has gone wrong with the memory card AAGGHHHH!!!!!

Fetyani, has Nike officially announced a change in the R10 line? I am curious how they are going to handle this seeing that R10 is a huge brand for them, much like R9 was too…

that sucks avia, what did you end up doing for a banner? at least you got to see out boys play.

gian, i honestly dont know, nothing on it yet. i can see it fading out just like Ronaldo with R9. or he’ll just keep it R10 for Brazil. because Adidas wont make any Dinho cloth line because he’s a Nike player. another thing that pissed me off at the Milan store, Kaka line over Paolo.
