Not Good Enoguh, Milan Continues To Fall
By: fetyani | December 4th, 2008But I’m not very worried, well not yet. Ronaldinho played the whole 120 minutes in Coppa Italia this mid-week against Lazio. Milan scored a late goal in the 77th minute through a wonderful goal by Sheva scoring his first goal at the San Siro (Click Here For The Goal). Unfortunately Lazio weren’t an easy task, as they made their way back in the game, and to make matters worse, Lazio scored early in the extra half to lead 2-1 and with Milan one man down; at the end of day Milan got kicked out of Coppa Italia. Well no one actually cares about the Coppa, right!.
Dinho played fairly well, assisting a few good chances, hitting the post from a free-kick and a nice few glances here and there. Though Ronnie did something pretty awful in the game, he gave David Rozehnal (Lazio’s defender) a big Gaucho elbow to the head on purpose. Although in Dinho’s defense, he stopped the ball and pointed out his fault and apologized to the player.

Milan will face Catania this Sunday and hopefully end the 2 loss streak and get back into action. Lets not forget the week after we’ll play Juve!
I’ll leave you with a pretty cool R10 Nike Commercial,
“You make them look the other way…”

i’m not sure the elbow to the face was on purpose. ronnie was not looking at the player and may have put the elbow up in anticipation of another body blow from behind. (he was getting fouled quite a bit in this game.) from what i understand it is unlikely that ronnie will be suspended for this incident.

its hard to say, from what i saw i can say it could be an elbow on purpose but he could have not meant it to the face. because you can see Dinho moving his elbow towards the player to hit him “or” (push him back). if anything they should just ban him one game or so only in coppa italia.

well, it looks like he will not be punished, which i think is good.
what do you think about Kaka complaining about the “positioning problem” that results from Ronnie being on the field –

yah i saw that comment earlier. quite honestly i was a bit surprised to hear him say something like that right now. anyway at the end of the day we just want to play with whats best for the team.
im waiting for the full press conference to be translated into english on the official site.

it’s never a good sign when a player (in any professional sport) uses the media to complain about how he (or she) is being used by the coach…

yah i know, the odd thing is goal.com are the only one who has this quote from Ricky
“Now, I don’t like the way I’m playing.”
Though its not on the official press conference. on the official site, he said
http://www.acmilan.com/NewsDetail.aspx?idNews=77074“Slowly but surely we are improving our understanding, which could become crucial for the team, as everyone expects.”
Ancelotti’s also responded to this situation,
“With Kaka I speak ever day, I know his thought and I don’t see the uneasiness I read about on the newspapers. Kaka is not a double of this team, he holds the keys of the team like many players have.”
“I can see that the newspapers are trying to create a ‘Kaka problem’, something that in reality does not exist
gets me back to my first though, misinterpreted news. though its still for the best not to talk about issues like this with the media. leave it in the locker room and training ground.

i’m sure Kaka has some legitimate points to make, but I also presume that Ronaldinho was acquired to improve the team. bottom line is that Milan now needs both of them.

Fetyani – any info on the severity of Ronaldinho’s “leg muscle injury?”

it doesnt say much on him. Ancelotti didnt say anything regarding this issue during his press conference. apparently the injury was enough to take him out of the game.
his last injury was a muscular problem too and he only missed 1 game. hopefully we see him next week against Juve.

i read somewhere that he was already doubtful for this game prior to the injury which occurred in practice. might be that playing 120 minutes on Wednesday wiped him out. he’s still well below 100% of his best form.

Nonsense…Look, I love Ronnie and I know that’s not in character for him but that was as blatant as an intentional elbow as they come…And, correctly, Serie A gave him a 3 match ban today
