Dinho @ The Olympics

By: fetyani | August 8th, 2008

Ronaldinho had his mind set on playing for Brazil in the 2008 Bejiing Olympics before joining Milan. It was one of the big issues that caused a big fall out between Gaucho and Barcelona. Adriano Galliani (Managing Director) and Milan decided to allow Dinho to join Brazil before even signing the contract, you don’t want to start any problems from the beginning of the relationships. And most importantly, to make him happy, because he really needs it at this time especially. It was beautiful to see Dinho smiling again. Lets hope Brazil wins the gold medal to give Dinho & Pato, maybe even Kaka a good boost to start the season, note that Brazil never won the gold medal in football at the Olympics.

Dinho on the olympics,

“It’s a great honour to represent Brazil at the Olympics, and now I’m here to become champion: the gold is worth as much as a world title. Now I’m happy and want to give my best because we all care a lot about this title.”

Brazil played Belgium in the first game, the game ended 1-0 for Brazil with a goal by Hernanes. I didn’t have the chance to watch the game live, I just watched the highlights of the games (Links are posted below). Honestly, to fully judge him I have to watch the whole game. His contribution with the ball, passes, shots. also as important is his positioning off the ball, the small passes to build up a play, help the team go up and so on. So from what I have seen, I could say his performance was satisfying. He isnt struggling, he’s making some runs (Thank you god), his freekicks were also impressive. Again, the best outcome from the game was that he played the wole 90 minutes. Judge for yourself too by watching the highlights.

Dinho – Pato play during the game.

So happy to see him that happy. Hopefully he will keep that smile through out the season and draw one on our faces.

its an under age belgium team, the only benefit this tournament has on him is winning the gold medal and boosting his morale which has dropped significantly
