Dinho @ The Offside

By: fetyani | August 3rd, 2008

Weclome to Ronaldinho @ The Offside. First I will introduce myself. I’m Fetyani, who am i? how old am i? what do I do? Are all question we know aren’t that important, what is? Who you support is who you are, and I am a proud Milanista for over a decade and a half, and im 20 years old, and yah I am just a tad crazy Photobucket This first post will be divided into two parts, we have a lot to cover since July 16th, Ronaldinho becoming a part of the Milan family.

Lets start with a quick bio on Dinho. Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, we know him as Ronaldinho, Gaucho Ronaldinho, The Magician, The One Man Show, Dinho, Ronnie and the list goes on. 28 years-old Brazilian. Ronaldinho bewildered the world a few years ago, to an extent where Real Madrid fans gave him a standing ovation in Madrid Santiago Bernabeu for the first time in history.

Dinho’s past was glorious; he swept all the awards and honors along his career, achieved what every player would dream of. To mention a few of his accolades, Internationally, World Cup 2002 and Confederations Cup 2005. At a club level with Barcelona, Spanish La Liga twice in a row 2005-2006 and Champions League 2006. As for the individual level, two time back-to-back FIFA Player of The Year award 2004-2005, Golden Ball 2005, FIFpro Player of the year 2005-2006, UEFA Footballer for the year 2005/06, among many others.

So instead of talking too much about his introduction and wiki-facts in the first blog, I will spread it throughout the blogs in the future, point out his achievements and unforgettable already classic historic past.

So now let’s point out the big purple elephant in the room, its 2008 now!! Ronaldinho proved he was a great player in the past; the main question here is whether Il Gaucho still has it in him? Will he perform like before? Will he be considered one of the top in the world again? Too many questions with no easy straight forward answer, and unfortunately I am not a psychic, sorry. But if one thing that we can establish, like the illustrious saying goes “Form is temporary, Class is permanent”.

If you have watched Ronaldinho for only one game, or a 4 minute highlight video on YouTube or even 1 goal, you might have drooled after watching his, what can only be described as “Pure Magic”. You might have dropped your jaw and it hit the ground, yah it’s not only in cartoons. Maybe even got up from your couch in your home, applauded and gave him a standing ovation. Don’t worry all those reactions are completely normal, you don’t have to check yourself into an asylum, well not yet.

So for now, we say let’s start this beautiful new voyage in Milan, Dinho. I am positive, my personal humble opinion, that Ronaldinho will stun the world next season, and he will show he is the Great Dinho Gaucho. I can’t wait for it to happen, and I’ll be here to share it with you on Ronaldinho @ The Offside.

Next Blog I will talk about his arrival at Milan, his pre-season, which lasted briefly with Milan before he joined Brazil for the 2008 Bejiing Olymics. And more about his arrival at Milan and how will he fit with the squad.

Forza Dinho Gaúcho!
