Dinho & Milan Fall Down On Their Asses In Torino

Not much to say. Juventus deserved the 3 points by outplaying Milan. It was an exciting game, would’ve been better without the rain and even more better if we managed to score more :) .It’s no secret the squad played poorly. But sometimes it’s better to just forget, learn from your mistakes and move on to the next task.

Del Piero and Co. might have won this one, but we will be waiting for them at San Siro in May 5th, hopefully clinch the Scudetto on that day too (I can dream, can’t I!!).

(Note: Amauri is starting some “friendly” beef with Dinho, celebrating doing the Samba. Watch at minute 4:02)

Here is what Ronnie had to say:

“Inter are strong, but so are Milan,”

“We will try and catch them as soon as possible. I am having a good spell and I think it was the right decision to come to Milan.”

“I would be so happy to help this club to win. My main priority for the rest of this year is to get in better shape so that I can play a whole 90 minutes with intensity.”

“I really think that I am adapting well to the Italian championship and I am enjoying it.”

(Inter boss Jose Mourinho stirred controversy by saying recently that Italian football isn’t popular abroad.)

“That’s his opinion, but I’m happy to have chosen Italy,”

“Each League has its own special characteristics. In Spain they play a very technical brand of football and I wanted to change to a more direct style.”

“Personally I really like that there is more physical contact in the challenges.”

Milan is suffering at this point of the season more than ever. Gattuso is out for 5-6 months, Kaka is injured and could be out until January (worst case 3 months), Flamini has an injured ankle, Bonera hernia, Borriello after January. In addition to the lack of opportunities set up and poor finishing.

In the past post fifaguy mentioned that Ronaldinho has to take his game to the next level. Related to the injures as well, and not the best performance from Ronnie; meaning Dinho has to step up big time, at this time during the season we cannot accept to hear “be patient”. We are already 9 points behind the first position. It is too much on his shoulders, but when you have a few key players out, you have to handle the pressure and try to make the best out of it. He has the experience, and was “The Man” with Barca.

Milan’s next game is against Wolfsburg in the UEFA Cup, Milan has already qualified but first place is always better. On Sunday Milan will host Udinese in the final game before the break; David Beckham will be presented at that game.

Forza Milan! Forza Dinho!

Fetyani – I enjoy reading your thoughtful, always optimistic posts. Wolfsburg might provide A. with the opportunity to try something different with the squad at hand, like putting Ronnie up front with Pato.

Well, if Milan want to have a crack on the title, they will need to buy some young talents in January… The current crop of oldies is just not fit and hungry anymore to pull themselves out of such a situation. If I were Galliani, I would even go as far as replace Ancelotti latest in June. It’s obvious for the last 1-2 years that can’t motivate the team and I for one can understand that it’s a tough job to do. Pirlo, Ambrosini, Maldini, Seedorf, they’ve all been with the club for the last 6 years at least, winning everything. How can you motivate such people anymore?

thanks fifaguy and i appreciate your comments all the time. Carlo should start to stick to one formation and play on it, wolfsburg could be an experiment game, try it on Udinese. then work on it in Dubai before coming back to Serie A after Christmas.

Alex, that is a problem thats been in Milan for quite a while, they like to always stick with the players and reward them during and after their football career. it is a good thing, but sometimes they take it too far (Cafu, Serginho, Dida…). Same for Carlo he still thinks he has the same players from 2002-2004.

i agree. ancelotti needs to make a decision about how this team will play and who should play and go from there. this may result in some benchings, but, as the old saying goes, “you can’t make an omelet without breaking some eggs.”

any idea why Ronnie didn’t play against Wolfsburg? was he being rested for Udinese where he may be critical if Kaka cannot go?
